Interviewing Technique Plan

When it comes to the systems analysis phase, interviewing is an excellent way to obtain information from another person. Interviews are a useful way to obtain detailed information about a topic. Knowledge on decision making, strategic planning, and resource allocation can all be gathered during the interview process. Specific details on the topic can be clarified and recorded for future reference. In the following paragraphs, I will outline and discuss for Jesse the seven steps for the interview process. This will allow of an effective interview that yields a high response rate with valuable information to assist with the systems analysis phase.

Step 1 of the interview process consists of determining the people to interview. Finding the correct people to interview is crucial in order to extract useful information that can be applied. It is important to find people to interview from all levels of the organization. This will allow for a wide range of information to be gathered. Information from several levels of the organization provides essential feedback coming from different perspectives.

Step 2 consists of establishing objectives for the interview. After the people to be interviewed have been determined, a person must consider what the goal of the interview is. Determining the areas to be discussed will help to develop questions that assist with fact gathering. Soliciting ideas, suggestions, and opinions during the interview process is a great way to help get a feel for the person being interviewed. Since you will be interviewing people from all levels of the organization, it will be important to phrase the questions that the person being interviewed can relate to and understand.
