Financial markets in Nigeria are still somewhat under-developed. There is relatively high level of unemployment and under - employment across the economy. The key factor that most people point to as a challenge is the impact of public financing decisions. Government accounts for a disproportionately high share of total expenditure. Consequently, public finance decisions are very important. I have spent over 13 years shaping policies and execution of plans revolving around government. Currently, I work in a role where I provide financial management services on structuring public finance that will help achieve government's goals.

I hope to perform the crucial roles that involve structuring public finance and create an impact positively of the world bank group. This would solve a need gap in the current system and have a ripple effect on the real economy will be positive. It will also hopefully impact on unemployment levels and other social indicators.

My interest in public finance dates back to my very first in 2002 when as an undergraduate student I took part in several research groups on public finance. I understand that knowledge which is not put to use is sterile, so I worked for 13 years attaining leadership positions in the public financial management in Nigeria. I am currently a senior accountant with Lagos state government. I also currently ct as a consultant to public sector vendors and clients. This gives me a global picture of the impact of public finance decisions on the other segments of society. Currently, I play certain roles in the reform program of the federal government of Nigeria in the power sector. This work involves supporting firms with sustainable financing plans. The project often requires strong levels of analytical ability, demonstration of business savvy and finance skills. Besides, I recently concluded my accounting charter.
