ObamaCare- How to Get It

After the Supreme Court ruled that Obamacare was constitutional and legal, I knew then that a deadline (March 31, 2014) would be put in place for all Americans to get medical insurance or be penalized. I, myself, could care less about all of the political “spinning of wheels” and uproarious, mostly erroneous, biased propaganda our civil servants are spewing about Obamacare. Why? Because it won’t negate the fact that it is law that all Americans have to be medically covered. So my goal as an uninsured individual along with my underinsured spouse is to become “properly” insured while the “powers that be” work out the kinks of the program itself; from the infrastructure, to the smoothest way of obtaining coverage.

On my short journey of getting “nothing but the facts”, I found an easier way of getting the information that the problem-ridden Healthcare.gov was providing such as what are we eligible for subsidy-wise and selecting a policy with a choice of coverage as well as affordability.

First, according to some information I obtained from a story (John Blackstone reported) on the CBS “Evening News”, I located a website called thehealthsherpa.com. It was created by three young programmers from California. They not only solved the annoying issues that the Healthcare.gov site is having, but also presents the “market place” information, obtained directly from the government’s website database, in a concise, simple way. The goal in mind while creating it was to give the people what they’re looking for which are what choices do I have and how much will it cost. While you cannot sign up on their website, they give directions, phone numbers and links to head the consumer down the path of getting the coverage they selected.
