Decision to pursue an MBA

Of several reasons for my decision to pursue an MBA, first one being a long awaited dream of pursuing Masters’ in IT in the United States ever since I was at school in India (disjointed, unclear sentence). In 2003 after scoring well and meeting all the requirements I was accepted by ASU for the MS in IT program (You should spell out abbreviations the first time used in a paper). But I was asked to pay out-of- state tuition despite living in Arizona for a whole year on a legal visa as ASU will not consider anybody other than citizens and permanent residents for in-state tuition. Thus Aas I could not afford out of state tuition I had to give up an the idea of a Master’s and begin with a career in IT.

My first IT job in the United States was a whole new experience. Completing my work and meeting my deliverables on time was never a challenge. But understanding the work culture in the new country, and opening up to show my talents started to become was my weakness. I started to develop a nature of an introvert as I got fearful of a thought of what if people do not understand my English accent and what if people do not agree with my ideas. Thus Aalthough I worked on complex projects with challenges and fit in very well with a team, because of my submissive nature credit for all of my work was easily stolen by others. In the bBack of my mind it was always haunting (word choice?) if I would be a different person had I pursued my Master’s before getting into the job world. My manager started to notice all of this and she set up a meeting to advice me that if I continue to be workaholic and let others take credit for it all of my efforts are in vein and thus communication is a key to show my talent.
