Ethics Awareness Inventory

All individuals’ views of ethics differ but most individuals can agree that there is right and then there is wrong. With that being said there is also a difference in what individuals consider right and wrong based on their own morals and ethical decisions. Ethics can affect someone in both their personal as well as professional life. Personal ethics are usually centered on an individual’s beliefs, values, and morals and how they may determine what is right and what is wrong. There can be many things that influence a person’s ethical standards. Some of these might include family, religion, and culture. When it comes to professional ethics this may include how the individuals shows integrity, honesty, and showing respect to other co-workers as well as customers and bosses in the workplace. The Ethics Awareness Inventory lays out questions for individuals and it has a self-scoring inventory to assist them in increasing a deeper understanding of their own ethical style as well as the ethical beliefs of others and some of the challenges they may face when working with others of a different ethical backgrounds.

Personal Ethics, Principles, and the Code of Conduct

Personal ethics is usually consciously established over the individual’s lifespan. When it comes to the psychological profession and when working with different individuals professionals must constantly implement ethical judgment and moral decision-making. It is very important that these professionals persist in emerging and progressing individual understanding of morality. The development of understanding these important aspects does not stop once a goal is achieved; it is a constant process that becomes more profoundly stationary as the individual evolves. Personal ethics are an important part of any professional discipline, and one must be ethical to conduct ethically.
