ABSTRACT
This paper will construct a project charter to revamp the compensation and benefits package as though the writer has been appointed head of human resources and is now in charge of managing a small team. The first project is to revamp the compensation and benefit package that the employees are receiving at the company. In this paper there will be a design of the communication plan for the project, the scope of the project s well as a work breakdown structure.

PROJECT CHARTER
In order for a project to be successful it is important that a project charter is put together
early on and it very specific about what is expected during the project. According to
Nordmeyer (2013), “ A project charter documents the agreement by leaders of a small business
to meet a particular business need by establishing a project structure and allocating the necessary
business resources to accomplish particular goals. The charter serves as a means to impose an
obligation on a project’s management to use project resources to accomplish agreed-to
objectives.”(1) From this statement it is clear how important a specific, attainable, and
measurable project objectives are to the success of a project.
Therefore, as an HR manager, I have reviewed the current plan as well as come up with
a new plan to revamp the compensation and benefits package. I have reviewed the current
expectations and have come up with a communication plan so that the team knows exactly
what is required of them and what their role is in meeting the teams goals. This also
will help with removing any miscommunication about what is expected or required for
the current positions. There needs to be a compensation plan that is written out so that
managers have a way to get the most out of those who report to them. The plan should
include every form of compensation that is available to them such as salary, bonuses, merit
increases, time...
