Unit 7 Assignment: Nominating a Justice

In the streets of Washington D.C nothing can present political power among its avenue M strollers than the influence and confirmed nomination of a Supreme Court Justice. With the power to rule on the law of the entire land it is of utmost importance that the balance of power within the walls of the U.S Supreme Court remains just that; balanced. In order to continue our fight for environmental justice it is with great importance that we utilize every means we have in our arsenal to prevent the Presidents nominee from being confirmed. The Presidents nominee Judge Extreme has an anti-environmental reputation and has gone on record criticizing our organization for our role on a number of environmental cases. We have decided to back Judge West from Wyoming as our nominee. Below we will outline our strategy for protecting our organizations goal and filibustering the Presidents nomination of Judge Extreme.

A spokesman will be named to handle all interviews and rebuttals on any media outlets. Utilizing our contacts within the political system we shall align ourselves with Senators on the committee that holds our values. Information is needed on both nominees. Rulings and interpretation of law is the key to moving our voice forward. We shall go to all points that the nominees served and find any information on how they ruled on environmental issues. Experts need to be gathered from our list of those who have assisted us before on any and all environmental issues. We will need to research any after effect of Judge Extreme’s rulings. We need to gather any citizens, business’s and town’s that were affected by the rulings if this judge.

Keep in mind we will not move into a character assassination of Judge Extreme. In the past this has shown to be ineffective. We will deal in rulings and facts. Find the affected and document the information...
