Edward scissorshands displays how people who are strange are often rejected because of their appearance and beliefs.

The film “Edward scisssorshand”directed by Tim Burton explains how people who are unusual are often rejected because of their appearance and beliefs. Edward scissorshands definitely shows how people who are different in society are often excluded and made to feel unwanted. In the film Edward is refused because of his unique character. Esmeralda the strange church lady is discarded by the housewives because of her religious values for people and her abnormal personality. Therefore Kim Boggs abandoned Edward at the start of the film because she thinks his peculiar. But then the love grows as the movie advances.

Edward the exclusive character comes in the neighbourhood makes people wondering who he was and why he had “scissors” as hands. Being this different character had made things worse .He got abandoned. Edward has special talents like cutting people’s hair and shaping trees into people.”No matter what Edward would always be special” even if he didn’t have scissors as hands. When Jim uses Edward as a source of laughter to break into his own house. Everything starts to wrong. Since then Edward had got a bad reputation and the neighbourhood started excluding from him because they thought he will break into their houses. But in the end Edward went back to his vacant mansion and never saw anyone again. This shows us that being dissimilar doesn’t really change anything. We should not decline people for being special.

Surely, Esmeralda the odd church lady has been a very bizarre nature in the film. She has been unwanted by everyone in the neighbourhood because of her religious way of life and her personality. During the film when she sees Edward she calls him a “devil”. She thinks Edward is evil and came from the “fires of hell”.
