Short Exercise

Interactive learning especially video-based learning, group discussion and brainstorming are most interesting way to gain and share knowledge between lecturer and students. Lectures are changed into discussions, and students and teachers become partners in the journey of sharing knowledge. In my opinion, video-based learning in my Human Resource Management (HRM) class was really awesome and entertaining. I am sure this type learning brings lots of benefits to me not only in lecture time but also for my career in future.

There are many advantages of video-based learning firstly, it may create and motivating memorable and inclusive learning experiences in classroom. This strategy provides opportunities for higher order thinking which is directly opposed to passive thinking. Reinforces listening to others and gives me the opportunity for immediate feedback and adjustment of thought. From this, I can manage to avoid the feel of afraid or ambiguity. So, for most active learners like me, it is more motivating to be active than passive.

Besides that, video-based learning stimulates better brainstorming, knowledge sharing and information gathering. For an instance, in my HRM class my lecturer often use video clips in her lecture to make ease the flow of student’s understandings. Indirectly, this would assist us to capture any subtopic or content clearly. This also may even help us broaden our perspectives on issues or problems. The visual connection and interaction between my lecturer and me enhances a better understanding and helps us feel connected to each other.

Furthermore, a video-based learning session can prove to be more effective and efficient as it can improve retention and appeal to a variety of learning styles by including diverse media such as video or audio clips, graphics, animations, and others.
