Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium

Standard 4

This week’s focus for the Collaborative Learning Community (CLC) is to analyze Standard 4 of the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) Standards.  The ISLLC Standard 4 states:

A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by collaborating with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources. (Adams-Rodgers & Johnston, 2008).

As future administers it is important to have a strong understand of the importance of community and diversity in the school environment. It is imperative that you understand the different communities around your school and the diversity within your school; so you can develop a safe and successful school where students feel secure coming to school and know that they are being educated to be the leaders of the future.
