Money and Politics

A number of people have the idea that money can play a significant role on affecting the political processes of a democratic country. The rich have more power to make a political direction of a country than the poor. However, I hold the opinion that money should not influence the political process. Every citizen should has the equal say in the political direction of country.

There is no doubt in our mind that a country is built by individual citizens. In other words, every citizen is part of the country. Therefore, a country should represent the will of its people. Taking election as an example, election is a efficient way to express the will of its people. Not matter how rich or poor you are, people have the same right to choose the president of the country with the others. Under such a policy, actions of a government will gain overwhelming support from its people. On the other hand, a government should adopt policies to limit the role that money can play in making political direction. The political process should be transparent and fair to its people. For those who try to use money to affect the political process, they should be punished.

In summary, individual citizens, whether rich or poor, should have a equal right to express their will. A country should make a political direction according to most of its people' will. To represent that a government is following the will of its people, people hope the government make political decision under a transparent and fair condition. To put a country on the path to peace, a government must respect the decision of the people.
