Abstract
As the world is becoming more global and technology-intensive, enterprises are increasingly realizing the need to keep training their employees, partners, and customers to create competitive advantages. Traditional learning solutions are expensive, manual, and passive. This report proposes that there is a tremendous business potential for active learning platforms that serve enterprises, where the users actively apply new knowledge to their business context to get the most out of new products and processes. Most of these platforms are online portals that provide Software as a Service (SaaS) and support active learning through synchronous learning (e.g. in-classroom learning or group chat) as well as asynchronous learning (e.g. individual and group projects with facilitation from subject matter experts).
