1. David’s Topic goal is that he wants to move to Chicago because of the very good job promotion that he has been offered, which in turn could move him up to Vice President in the Company. His relational goal is that he is looking for respect and support from Donna. This is very apparent because he originally thought that Donna was going to be in support of it, but it turns out she was not. His Identity Goal is the he is the reliable family member in the house and wants to succeed in his job which in turn will help him succeed in taking care of his family. His process goals might be giving each other equal time and to sit down and talk about the pros and cons of each situation.

2. Donna’s Topic goal is that she is just feeling “settled” in her job and does not want to move because she is comfortable where she is at now. Her relational goal is that she feels like she is not being respected by David in the way that she wants. She feels like David should listen to her side of the story before making any big decisions. Her Identity goal is that she wants to she wants to be logical in this situation. She feels like her and David are great right where they are at, unfortunately David does not feel that way. Her Process goal would probably be the same as David’s in that they need to give each other equal time and to sit down and talk about the pros and cons of each situation.

3. David’s treatment of Donna is that he is not being very respectful and is not considering her side of the situation like he should. He is only looking at the benefits of his side of the argument. But at the same time Donna is treating David with no respect. She needs to realize that this move could be the most positive thing that they could experience. However, she needs to respect David.

4. If I were David in this conflict my prospective goal is to move for the promotion and be able to make more money and to eventually move up in the company. My Transactive goal would be to convince...
