* Bill Gates and Martin Luther King Junior are intellectuals that have made extraordinary contributions to society. Bill Gates was a technology pioneer who revolutionized the personal computer and Martin Luther King Junior was one of the most influential people in his time as he fought for equality during the civil rights movement.

* Bill Gates was born William Hennery Gates III in 1955 and is a computer entrepreneur who at one time was the richest man in the world (Zorina, 2013). Bill Gates went to college at Harvard and founded Microsoft when he was 21. Bill Gates built his computer empire by adapting to program in the basic computer language and creating the program, MS-DOS. Microsoft Disk Operating System, (MS-DOS) was the operating system that revolutionized the personal computer and was licensed to IBM (OXFORD PRESS, 2003). MS-DOS morphed into Microsoft Windows an intelligent graphical computer interface, which is one of the primary software standards used.

* In the late1950’s into the 1960’s martin Luther JR was a young civil rights leader who fought for equality for minority men and woman. Martin Luther King JR was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1920 and later moved to Montgomery Alabama where he started his first civil rights campaign to end the segregation and the infamous Jim Crow laws (Gale Encyclopedia of American History). During the time of segregation African Americans were forced to ride in the back of the buss and a brave woman named Rosa Parks took a stand against the issue. Rosa Parks was imprisoned for breaking the law and as a result Martin Luther King directed a campaign of peaceful protests against the buss company (Ansbro, 1989).
