This memo has the purpose to inform the three first-level Managers, the team of the Midlevel Manager at InterClean, Inc., about a merger that is about to take place with EnviroTech, and about the importance of the type of behavior that managers exhibit.
This memo will explain first how a manager’s behavior can impact the productivity of his workers. Next it will describe the types of management actions that are in line with employment laws and those that are not. The memo will outline, finally, some best practices for working within a diverse work environment.
The productivity can be affected by many factors like system and procedures used, equipment, tools type, materials quality, people skills and knowledge, management skill and attitude. An efficient leadership, a management with an appropriate behavior, is a very important factor that creates a good work environment, and, as a result, it leads to the best productivity.
By the other hand, a bad behavior of a leader can create an unpleased work place. Employees are always influenced by their superior attitude, and a destructive one could make them loose their skills, work appeal, pleasure, and creativity.
Their productivity is affected, as well.
The consequence of negative attitude of superior is the fact that subordinates will work in an unpleased atmosphere of fear and mistrust.
All these problems could be eliminated when the manager acts in a proper way, adequate in and under the moral and legal Laws, and when he tries to understand his subordinates. It is important to always look at the positive part of the subordinate rather than at his negative aspects, sides. It is useful to know the employees, what they can do, what they know, to appreciate them and their work....
