A moral is defined as teaching or exhibiting goodness or correctness of character and behavior (Britannica company, 2011). Not to be confused with ethics, morals deals more with a person’s personality and about what the individual believes in. The upbringing of an individual can impact his or her moral beliefs however; a lesson can be learned in each scenario. For example, childhood stories have been used to teach life lessons about different situations for many years. Story tails about even some of the most popular characters such as Batman, Robin hood, and The Boy Who Cried Wolf are often portrayed as hero (doing right), saving the day, or beating the bad villain. Morals can teach children to make choices of right or wrong and can be seen though behavior. Fictional characters in these narratives are portrayed and given situations to do right and make the right choice and set the example in these adolescents’ children. The characters in these novels have consequences, whether bad or good it helps children learn from them. This paper will analyze the popular fiction character and short film of Pinocchio. This narrative best describes a parent and child relationship and covers topics that include trust issues, doing right, and situations most adolescents face throughout their childhood.
The narrative I chose to write about is Pinocchio and Geppetto. This story tells us the reader a valuable lesson in growing up to become brave, honest, & generous. Geppetto, the creator and master of Pinocchio builds and creates a puppet of wood and names him Pinocchio. With a magical wish and a wasp Pinocchio becomes alive and suddenly speaks! While Geppetto is in shock Pinocchio begins making faces and misbehaving. Geppetto tells Pinocchio that tomorrow he we be entered into school with other children his age and learn how behave. Later...
