Abstract

Learning Team C took on the responsibility of evaluating one of University of Phoenix’s Virtual Organization for content and design. The team selected “Kelsey City Government” website to review and make our redesign suggestions. We were lucky to have some of our team that was familiar with the application Dreamweaver that allowed us to recreate our design suggestions.

Website Evaluation

The Kelsey City government website was evaluated by the Learning Team C in regards to enhancing the site productivity to the community. The intention of this site is to allow visitors to the town as well as prospective residents who are thinking of moving to Kelsey City a sense of familiarity with the town before they arrive. In addition to providing useful information about the current government, the site also provides maps of the area, schools in the town, a few local businesses links, general information on the community itself, a history of the town, and even information on local transportation.

As a team we found the website to be fairly flat and that it seemed to lack any implementation of any sort of new technology available today. The team decided to rework the entire site bringing the community to the target audience as well as anyone interested in visiting or learning what the community can offer. In order to spice up the site’s appeal, the lead webmaster decided to incorporate some JavaScript and to include some Cascade Style Sheets to keep the fonts and styles uniform across each page. By adding these new technologies we believe we will increase both the website’s productivity and overall appeal of the site which will attract visitors bringing more customers.

The team was able to research a great deal of information over the few weeks in an attempt to uncover what the customer needs and really wants from the website. Our goal is to give the customer the ability to...
