Film Critique for the Movie D’Jango Unchained

There are many elements that assist in the successful development of a film. In the essence of the film’s production there are many key people that play a significant role in bringing the pieces of the film together. Not only do the actors’ skills in acting play a great part in any films success, but the people that you do not see on the screen play a very important part in the production of any film. In the movie “D’Jango Unchained” the director, the production designer, and the art director are usually not seen on the screen, but their work is reflected greatly in each film as each element is put together to make the film that millions of people can either watch to enjoy or see to critique.

“D’jango Unchained” was directed by Quentin Tarantino and the late J. Michael Riva mastered the job of the production designer for the film before his death on June 12, 2012. Robert Richardson added his expertise as the Cinematographer in this film. ________ contributed his skills to the movie and fulfilled the responsibility as the art director in “Django Unchained”.

The role of a director is very challenging. According to Goodykoontz and Jacobs(2011), “His or her role is often similar to that of the foreman, translating the screenwriter’s story so that the actors and crew can carry it out. And like the foreman, it’s up to the director to turn the elements he or she builds with—words, images, and sound—into something not just coherent but entertaining, even moving.” The director’s role in the design process is to be in charge of the entire production and to hold the responsibility of the final output on the film. The director often plays a part as a facilitator. He or she will oversee the project and make sure that everything is conducted in a timely manner. The director also makes...
