A1. Does your group support the proposal? Why or why not? In addition, give TWO reasons why the study of Organisational Behaviour (OB) can help you in understanding such issues better. (Maximum of 400 words for this question)

Even though the White Paper is a debatable topic by every organization and individual in Singapore; my group have decided to support the white paper proposal. No doubt, many Singaporeans have major concerns over more public transport breaking down; Singaporeans start to lose their own identity and 50% of true Singaporean will start to feel threaten as there as almost as much foreigners as Singaporeans in Singapore. However in another perspective, not many people agree:

• America is formed when many people migrate there. Although they are all from different backgrounds, they have decided to come together as one free nation, now known as the United States of America.

• One reason why China has a growing economy is because every shop set up there bounds to have people visiting. Every restaurant will be packed even if the food is not good.

• With many more people, our businesses will grow; Small Medium Enterprises and the economy will grow. I believe the government is having this perspective which will solve the aging population.

• Even though our population is expanding, they are still considered Singaporeans even if they were born from different countries. All we Singaporeans have to do is embrace the differences but the future Singaporeans have to learn our culture, our slang and our way of life.

• Singapore has to improve its transport network. With a population of 6.9 million, you cannot have the train breaking down every single morning and a shorter time interval is needed.

Hence our group agrees to the White Paper proposal. And the study of Organisational Behaviour (OB) helps us understand such issues better. OB is a field of study that investigates the impact of individuals, groups and organisational structure have on...
