Living for the Society : A journey of Self Actualization

Life is a journey. There are twists and turns. There are highs and lows. But the question is in spite of enduring all these are where our life will lead us. The answer is very debatable. But it’s definitely towards Self Actualization to our protagonist. As a teenage student madly in love at 18, serving Indian Air Force at 20, a corporate consultant at 24, a husband at 25, a social entrepreneur at 26, a teacher at 29, a bureaucrat at 31 and at 34 now back to being a student and still madly in love with the girl he loved at 18. In his own words “Life does come a full circle”. Let me introduce to you Mr Shashank Shekar Shukla, who lives life to the fullest, doing what he feels is right, right I mean to the society. Now having lived such a varied life so far, the question here is what lead Mr Shashank Shukla to take such drastic turns in his life. Giving up lucrative corporate job at 26 and turning Social Entrepreneur, turning to being a bureaucrat after being a teacher teaching the poor and once again being a student at mid-30’s. That’s a remarkable change. Let me unfold a journey to Self Actualization, Journey of Shashank Shukla who lives for the society.

Everybody derives their inspiration from within or from external environment or sometimes both. Later was the case with Shashank who got motivated to take up social entrepreneurship to help the poor, deprived ones in the country to lead a success full life. He believes in empathy rather than sympathy. Unlike most who start an NGO or donate money to feed the underprivileged, Shanshank taught them how to earn to feed themselves. He did not sympathise with them, instead he empathised with them.
