Graduates Mindset Towards Unemployment in Malaysia

Introduction

Low unemployment is one of the four main aims of every government and it's a battle that might get better or worse at times but it will never end. People who are unemployed are members of labour forced that are not working, but are fit and available for work ( Dawson, 1992 ) Unemployment is always seen as a problem in every country because it means that the resources are not used efficiently and it is also the same for Malaysia. Every year, numerous student who graduate from government or private institutions with excellent results, can barely find a job. Research has shown that 24.6% Malaysian graduates were not able to find a job six months after graduation in 2010 ( Sim, D, 2013 ). This only increases the general dependency ratio which only makes Malaysian's life tougher amidst the inflations.

Reasons we select this topic:

* It's a situation where everyone has to face after graduation and never ending problem in every country.

* It's a highlighted situation in every country and it would be a good way to increase awareness on this issue in Malaysia and to let the government know what the public thinks.

* It's a good way to express how the citizens think about unemployment compared to the government.

What do we want to address from this issue:

* Malaysian's opinion on Malaysian's unemployment.

* What is the main cause of unemployment in Malaysia.

* Actions that would be taken by Malaysian graduates if they are jobless.

* The effectiveness of the government's actions or plans in countering this problem.

* The level of awareness of the unemployment in Malaysia.
