1(a).The statement of De Lago is not correct.

(b).Once the system is acquired, the business cannot avoid spending money on IT. Due to the strained system, management of Encosta Memories is going to upgrade to a new system.A new programmer and a full-time IT specialist are going to be employed which means that the company will develop a new system by themselves instead of outsourcing.Under such situation, SDLC may be adopted. Since the SDLC is a waterfall methodology, it is unavoidable for a business to spend more money once the model cannot be accepted.The model will be redesigned and goes back to the early stage which means that the business may spend more money on IT.

2.Encosta Memories may not employ a programmer under the adoption of outsourcing methodology.

According to the definition of outsourcing approach, it can be considered when the organisation is not going to or not be able to manage technology and IT.Under such a situation,the organisation can outsource directly and do not need to develop a new system by themselves.

3.Encosata Memories can adopt ASP to limit maintenance cost if the system is in place within the organisation.

SDLC is a methodology that the business needs to invest money continually to develop and keep the system.Outsourcing is a methodology that the business outsource from outside providers directly without any IT support.

The adoption of Application Service Provider means that the software will be obtained via subscription.And the provider of ASP will also provides updates and bug fixes.Help-desk support is available from the providers.This saves the maintenance cost to a large extent.

4.(1)In the investigation stage, the management may not clear with the problems or opportunities of the current system and they cannot address the feasibility of responding to the problems.
