Problem Statement

Nitish, a new recruit in Solutions Unlimited is facing difficulties in handling the interpersonal conflicts arising out of lack of well defined processes and the existing structural imperfections within the company. This has left Nitish demoralized and de-motivated and he is facing an awkward situation of whether to continue his current job or to leave the company.

Problem Analysis

Nitish is a highly qualified manager having an MBA degree from a reputed college and having technical experience spanning 4 years in the field of IT and Business processes. He is very young and dynamic and has a well established family in Jamshedpur. He has no immediate responsibilities and hence he is very focused in his work. In the current organization, he has the backing and confidence of the top management people like the MD, CEO and Director of finance. However he is very inflexible in relocating to any place and always wants to be in a comfort zone. His interpersonal skills are pretty weak as evident from the incident wherein he took out his calculator in the mid of the salary negotiation. He gets easily de-motivated and demoralized in pressure or uncomfortable situations. He is a part of the industry which is booming and has ample job opportunities in the market. He has the option of working in his field of interest for which he did an MBA. In the present scenario he might get into a situation wherein there can be a clash of egos and interest with the operations department people and might lead to job loss.
