SYNTAX

1. Declarative: The Queen of Hearts is angry.

2. Imperative: Off with her head.

3. Interrogative: Are you Alice?

4. Exclamatory: It’s ALICE!

5. Simple: Alice rumbles through the twisted paths of Wonderland.

6. Compound: The White Rabbit hurries off to the Queen’s castle while Alice is talking to the Walrus for directions.

7. Complex: The Mad Hatter is holding a Happy Unbirthday Party because he is mentally insane.

8. Compound-Complex: Alice falls into the world of Wonderland, a world created by her vivid imagination, as a result of the depression she feels from the loss of her older sister, the only living family member she had left after the tragic fire; the culprit that destroyed Alice’s family has not yet been caught.

9. Loose: The Walrus ate the stolen clams before the Carpenter could have a single one.

10. Periodic: The entangling vines of Wonderland, with its shifting shadows and piercing silence hid the glare of the monstrous atrocity that continuously glare upon the fragile girl known as Alice.

11. Juxtaposition: Alice’s adventure came to an end when she face the dilemma of either staying in the world of imagination or returning to the world of reality.

12. Parallelism: The multiple adventures in Wonderland include swimming in a tea bowl, falling down a hole, playing croquet in a garden, and wandering through a dark forest.

13. Repetition: The cheeky, crazy, colorful Cheshire Cat is chocking the calm Door Mouse.

14. Rhetorical Question: Are you guys joking or just lunatics?

15. Ellipses: Alice drift off into sleep…only to be woken by a white figure in the distance.

16. Semicolon- Alice is an average British schoolgirl; the average English girl has blonde hair and blue eyes.

17. Italics: “Wonderland is definitely not located anywhere is England,” presumed Alice as she ventures through its regions.

18. Capitalization: The Catipillar exclaimed, “Who are YOU?”
