Should Homosexuals be Able to Marry?
I. Introduction
Marriage is a social contract between two people. People marry because it is the ultimate expression of love for another. Marriage is a vow that says "I love you so much that I want to live the rest of my life with you. I want to share the ups and downs, forsake all others, and be together until death do us part. Should it matter that the couple doesn't fit into what society is used to? I say no. To disallow marriage on the basis of homosexuality is simply discrimination against an undesirable lifestyle.
A. Thesis Statement
Men and women who are attracted to partners of the same sex should be allowed the same Constitutional rights as any other human being. Same-sex marriage is a reality; it is a social contract that is here to stay and it will eventually become the law of the land.

Marriage is a legally binding agreement between two people and the right to enter into that contract is protected by the U.S. Constitution through which society has a commitment to the promise of true legal equality.

The Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution requires each state to provide equal protection under the law to all people within its jurisdiction and to reject irrational or unnecessary discrimination against people belonging to various groups. (Gerstmann)
B. Explanation
We are meant to be a just society. There is no room for discrimination against any group of fellow humans based on who they may choose to marry. Americans have a fundamental right to marry the person of their choice.

The matter of same-sex marriage should be a moot point. Bias is not acceptable.
