Should the military be allowed to recruit at schools?

Abstract

Recruiters have always had access to our children’s future; mostly uncheck advances through the last year prior to graduation. Has anyone ever challenged the thought of stopping this action? Yes, it is every American’s duty for love of country, but these are just kids. Many our children can’t even decide on what to wear mush less which way to obtain a fulfilling career path. Most youth often find going into the Armed Forces is an adventure, but later find it was a mistake. There must be something as a parent we can do to stop this.

Should the military be allowed to recruit at schools?

At times, we often hear the old slogan “Be all you can be,” and we smile because of what that means. As adults we try to teach our children values by giving them the best opportunity they can have, either by freedom through expression or at least the opportunity to make a mistake here and there. Without proper supervision we tend to get what we put in, a lifelong saga of failures. At the age of 16 a child becomes a teenager, and with that comes a great deal of confusion. Not mention thought of sexual desires for boy, girls and sorts of things. With this in mind, is it safe for military recruiters to prowl the campus spreading information that can influence your son or daughter’s future, or better should we stop military recruiters from recruiting in high school altogether?

Ever since the war in Vietnam, the United States government has used tactics to encourage candidates for the Armed Forces, once the draft was enacted to mandatorily force young men into the service. Some stories were bad with the end result of a loss in the family. Maybe the boy was fully matured enough with the concept of war and death.
