The Hospitality Industry is an ever-growing and ever-changing industry. It is an industry consisting of many categories of fields within the service industry that includes lodging, restaurants, theme parks, cruise lines and additional fields within the tourism industry. It is based on the availability of the leisure time and disposable income of individuals. It has had a profound growth and impact on people and within the industry, it has made many sectors available for people to be able to work and make a living, and in turn use that disposable income within the same industry.

The Hospitality Industry’s change and growth has impacted the lives of people locally and also internationally. With the dawn of a new age and modernization, it has allowed for new hotels, restaurants, cruise lines, lodging facilities, motels, museums and more to available to accommodate travelers and to also stay on the market trends. Locally, the industry has afforded many locals to be able to promote their culture and lifestyle in a manner that is feasible and attractive. People within a host country, would promote their country by using arts and craft, traditional things, such as entertainment, woodwork, arts and craft, the nature and the way of life in creating an atmosphere that is conducive to the environment and also to the people they engage with.

Objectives

The objectives of this research are to find out the positive impacts that the tourism industry in Jamaica has on its local surrounding communities. It is also goes out to find out the negative impacts as well. The research also expounds on the factors that contribute to the growth of community tourism with industry such as the Cultural Tourism, Sporting, Entertainment, Service (Restaurant, Lodging, and Cruise Lines) Sustainability Tourism and others.
