Introduction

The internet bestows immeasurable amounts of data that anybody in the world can gain access to. Even though there are individuals in each part of the world who consider the internet to be troublesome because of the vast array of available data. Iraqi’s have to be without doubt, incredibly satisfied to now have the opportunity to now use the internet in an unsecured form. With the attack on America on September 11, 2001 there may be some trepidation as to whether or not Americans should consider unrestricted internet access for the Iraqi public as a threat. The Iraqis live in a timeworn populace with numerous citizens who have not been bestowed with the same welfares as American citizens. Many freedoms are taken for granted in the United States (U.S.); i.e., freedom of speech, technology, voting, the right to work, the ability to run for public office, and unrestricted use of the internet. The volume of data available and the majority of what individuals learn is via what was once considered a non- conventional method.

The internet is an enormous data center and it is how individuals retrieve, internalize, shape our beliefs, and share data. The Internet does not regard time, boundaries, patriotism, or independence, and that implies that the internet is a key contributor to terrorist activity. Keeping that in mind, Iraqi citizens, political leaders, and law enforcement officials have to be concerned with the social and ethical repercussions from the unsecured use of the global internet. The availability of unsecured internet in Iraq can be both a nightmare and a blessing. In spite of this there is a need to improve Iraqi technology for the citizens as well as to provide means of homeland communication for U.S. soldiers.
