Hiring a Team

The definition of team is people coming together to achieve a common goal. Teams are not just found in the sports world but in the corporate world as well. When hiring a team to be put together I would have to first decide the size of the team that I want to form. This would be based on the task that we are looking to achieve. Based on the goal I would then look at how each person that I want to add interacts with others. I would like to choose only the best employees but putting together a team of top performers may not be the best fit. For one they may work better alone than in a team environment. After I have my idea of who I would like to add to the team I would need to find a way to entice them to join the team. I could use pay or compensation as a benefit this may bring in the people on my list but I would want people that are committed not because of compensation but because they want to participate on the team, they also have to believe the mission is important and be committed to accomplishing the team mission and expected outcomes. After I form this team I now must keep them motivated one way to do this is friendly competition between other teams or looking at what the competitors are doing and how can we beat or catch up with our competitors. With each accomplishment there would be an award maybe a gift card or a bonus but some sort of award that would be a motivating factor. Next I would be sure to implement the three of the 12 C’s into our team strategy. The three C’s you may ask what is the three of the 12 C’s. The three I would choose are.

1 Clear Expectations: Has executive leadership clearly communicated its expectations for the team's performance and expected outcomes? Do team members understand why the team was created? Is the organization demonstrating constancy of purpose in supporting the team with resources of people, time and money?...
