1. Calvin Coolidge- 30th president of the United States. He was president during the roaring 20s and great depression era. He was the president when the economy was booming and before the stock market crash. He is significant for being the president before the great depression and his policies were music to big businesses ears.

2. Welfare Capitalism- refers to the practice of business providing welfare services to their employees. Started in the roaring 20s era. It was started to keep workers satisfied and increase productivity. It is important because this is the first time companies were giving employees medical insurance, homes, job security, etc.

3. 1924 Progressive Party- a new party created as a vehicle for Robert M. La Follette to run for president in the 1924 election. It was created in the roaring 20s for the 1924 election. The progressive party was significant because it demonstrated the survival of some currents of dissent in a highly conservative decade.

4. Johnson- Reed Act- also known as the immigration act of 1924. It was a united states federal law that limited the annual number of immigrants who could be admitted from any country to 2%. It was passed by Cal Coolidge during the roaring 20s. It was significant because it stopped immigration from the eastern hemisphere. The purpose of the act was to preserve the ideal of American homogeneity.

5. American Individualism- book written by president Herbert hoover. It was written in 1922 during the roaring 20s. The book condemned government regulation as an interference with economic opportunities of the ordinary American.

6. Harlem in the 1920s- it was a community of widespread poverty. Harlem rose during the roaring 20s. Harlem blew up through the Harlem renaissance. Harlem in the 1920s was significant because African Americans created their own culture through art, literature, and drama.
