The Bible is full of verses that relate to business characters. Many of them express business action such as honesty, trustworthiness, integrity and compassion. Character can be defined as a person’s ethical and moral qualities as well as their ability to do the right thing when no one else is looking. Business owner’s decisions affect their business and have an impact on their customers, employees and the communities they operate in.
False Advertisement
The Bible states, “Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.” (Leviticus 19:11) Businesses grow using advertisements and customers’ word-of-mouth. They always want customers to know they are fair, trustworthy and always have the customer’s best interest at heart. The best commercial with the catches jingle will not save a business when customers use word-of-mouth to explain how they are treated unfairly and how the services and products are not the same as the advertisement.
Fruit of the Spirit
The Bible also states, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.” (Galatians 5:22). A business that describes those characters will have a loyal customer’s base. Customers want to be treated like there are important and the businesses they shop at care about their opinions and concerns. Some businesses take the time to listen to their customers or have a comment box for customers to state any concerns or appreciation of a particular service or act from an employee. Employees with smiles on their faces and friendly attitude toward customers are the reasons why customers will come back again and again....
