The five main points of HP way were:

Executing business with uncompromising integrity.

HP expected its employees to be open, honest, and collegial in their associations to garner the trust and loyalty of People. They must follow the highest standard of business ethics and realize that anything less is just not acceptable to the organization. Ethics was a deeply ingrained tradition which ought to be passed from one generation to the next. The company and its employees took pride in their integrity and value system they followed.

The HP way stressed on trust and respect for individuals.

HP’s culture believed in its employees that given the proper support and requirements people perform to the best of their abilities. They hired highly talented, smart, innovative people from diverse backgrounds and recognized their efforts and contributions to the company. The company’s employees were passionate and enthusiastic about the work and the mutual trust between HP and its employees made this practice a successful endeavour.

Focus on a high level of achievement and contribution.

Customer expectation of HP products and services is very high. To achieve this, all HP employees, especially managers, must assume leadership roles inspire, motivate fellow employees to go an extra mile to meet customer needs. Techniques and management practices which are effective today might become obsolete in the future. For HP to remain at the forefront of all their business endeavours, employees must look for innovative and unique ways to do their work.
