Morality

Morality: It is derived from Latin word “moralitas” which means manners, behaving properly. Morality is defined as process of deciding the right or wrong in terms of intentions, decisions and actions. Morality refers to as rules for human conduct. The examples of morality:

* Drinking under age

* Driving over the speed limit

* Smoking marijuana

* Cheating on a tax return

* Splitting a cable signal to send it to more than one television

In order to be moral we have to learn the ethics. Morality is basis of ethics. Without ethics we are not able to make moral decisions. Ethics is defined as a set of rules or principles for deciding the righteous path based on facts. These principles not always offer just one moral value to be accepted as right. Rather ethics gives a fair chance to compare among competing options and then decide for right. Ethics is the branch of philosophy that deals with the questions about morality. Ethics is an attempt to understand what is good and what is bad therefore when you are finding or learning the facts about why driving over the speed is wrong, then this is your ethics. It shows that you are being ethical in your dealings. When we are learning and analyzing ethics we come across two concepts:

Morally Right: This refers to as when some our intentions, decisions or actions are according to the set of rules and principles developed by any element of the society. For example Government has made the rule to limit the speed of the car. If we are following this rule then we are morally right.

Morally wrong refers to as immorality. This is the opposition of morality. When we are not following the set rules and principles of the society then we are morally wrong in our decisions.
