STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

India is home to thousands of entrepreneurs. I want to be one of them. Our country needs more skilled innovators who can create and launch cutting-edge products and services to keep India at the forefront of the technological tide. But we don’t have many first rate entrepreneurial studies programs like those that have produced the top Silicon Valley leaders. Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras has exactly the kind of program I am seeking. DoMS holds exciting events with venture capitalists and entrepreneurs like Samanvay, offering networking opportunities and first hand experience that I plan to take full advantage of to extend my learning. Also the initiatives of students there at DoMS such as FinAddicts imply their proactiveness .I have followed with great interest some of India’s pioneering business leaders such as Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy who have created successful technology companies from scratch.

My future goal is to launch my own software company, and the best way to achieve that goal is to get an MBA with an entrepreneurial focus like your institute offers.

To achieve my career goals, I need to learn much more about current developments and techniques in finance, financial markets, production, marketing and human resources. A Master's Degree will provide me with theoretical understanding, an in depth idea of practical approaches in aiding managerial decision-making and research skills to enable me to develop an expertise in the core areas of financial strategies and global corporate financial operations.

Strong quantitative skills, familiarity with computer applications and experience gained while working on various college and school projects and fests have helped me to develop sharp analytical abilities and have given me the confidence to tackle advanced problems on a macro level.
