I. Summary
The book entitled “Effective Biblical Counseling” (A Model for Helping Caring Christians Become Capable Counselors) by Dr. Larry Crabb presents a model of counseling that can be gracefully integrated into the counseling system of the local church. Crabb teaches that counseling is simply a relationship between people who care and that its goal is to free people to better worship and serve God. This is accomplished in a manner that is consistent with scripture. In order to develop an inward character that will ultimately conform to the image of Christ. These problem feelings lead to problem behaviors which require the counselor to know the goal of the problem behavior so that we can identify the assumptions that have led to their problem thinking. (Crabb 1977)
c. Biblical Integration
* All Christian counseling should have as its foundation the principles of the Word of God. Throughout Dr. Crabbs book his focus on Biblical teaching in the counseling process is very...
