* CREDITS: The film “the bridge on the river KWAI” is so nuanced, deep, and interesting. How many times do we see a scenario where the film's protagonist in the first hour, slowly descends into becoming an antagonist by the riveting conclusion? There are others, of course, but it's certainly rare. And this film certainly is one of those enriching movie experiences

* This film is based on World War II Which was released on 2nd October 1957 and was a Joint venture production between a British and American production House. The film was released by Colombia Picture’s for producer SAM SPIEGEL and Directed by DAVID LEAN. The cast of the film which was shot in Thailand was MR WILLIAM HOLDEN as US Navy Commander, MR Alec Guinness as Lieutenant Colonel Nicholson, JACK HAWKINS as Major Warden, SESSUE HAYAKAWA as Colonel Saito, JAMES DONALD as Major CLIPTON, GEOFFREY HORNE as Lieutenant Joyce, PETER WILLIAMS as Captain Reeves, JOHN BOXER as Major Hughes and ANN SEARS as nurse.

* The film Bridge on River KWAI has won seven Oscar Awards for Mr. Sam Spiegel (Best Picture), Mr. David Lean (Best Director), Mr. Alec Guinness (Best Actor),Mr. Peter Taylor (Best Editing), Mr. JACK HILDYARD(Best Cinematography),Mr. Malcolm Arnold (Best Music) and Mr. Michael Wilson, Mr. Carl Foreman and Mr. PIERRE BOULLE. It has also won 3 BAFTA Awards and 3 Global Awards. This Film was a super hit when it was released and it was # 1 and has earned more than $18,000,000.in the year 1958 (highest ever collection at the Box Office in the year 1958).
