Executive Summary

The purpose of this report is to prepare Roberts’s Global Data Collection for the future expansion of our data warehouse. This project is an important step toward the design and quality of our company’s information data systems. We must be able to ensure that we are planning for our company’s future growth trends accordingly, which means a larger data warehouse will need to be established. The goal of this project is to be planned for and designed accordingly, so that we are able to prepare for our company’s projected growth, and ensure that we expand our 10 terabyte data warehouse to meet our future company requirements. We must begin this process now and be prepared for ahead of time to avoid any complications that may arise.

The major findings of the research for this report indicate that our company has an immediate need for the expansion of our 10 terabyte data warehouse. Our storage capacity is very close to reaching its maximum amount allowed (currently our available storage space is 4 terabytes). We, as a company, must upgrade our equipment to ensure that we can continue to meet our customer’s needs for data storage. The last thing that we want is to wait until the last minute to make the necessary upgrades. This could result in a halt of our services to our clients, and the inabilities to accept new clients until the upgrades are made. We need to begin upgrading the data warehouse now to ensure that we are prepared ahead of time for additional data storage. It is imperative that we made these changes now to guarantee the future success of our company.
