Abstract
This paper explores the process I took to show what independent variables directly affected the dependent variable of the number of workplace fatalities in the state of Illinois from 1978 through 2009. After extensive research, I gathered and analyzed data encompassing the years 1992 through 2009. I included my reason for this within the following report as well as any other disclaimers necessary for my analysis and subsequent results. Finally, I arrived to the conclusion only one of my independent variables directly impacted the fatality number. The following is a brief report as to how I arrived at this conclusion as well as any pertinent data matrices and graphs.
