My daughter just graduated from the university with a Bachelor of Science, Community Health Sciences, and Emphasis on Health Promotion. My daughter is now working on hers Masters and the future looks bright for her. I can’t express how happy and proud I am of her and her achievements at such a young age. I scarified financially so she would have an education without the financial burdens that follows. I realized that I would be taking on additional financial responsibilities if I decided to complete a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management. The reality is, I have invested monies in material things, business ventures, and other frivolous pursuits for the past 25 years with little or no significant returns. Needless to say, I have procrastinated myself out of promotions and top positions because I didn’t take the time to obtain a college education. I gained invaluable experience with the US Air Force as an aircraft electronics technician, but over the years I realized it wasn’t enough to advance to certain levels in my current field. I only needed to turn this experience into a tangible college degree. I also realized the credibility I would gain in the industry with a college education coupled with 20 years of experience. My daughter and a close mentor have been instrumental in providing unparalleled encouragement for me to continue my education. Not only have I gain support from my family, but also from my professional colleagues as well. I can’t imagine a better gift to myself than a college education. The decision to go forward with a degree in Information Technology Management will benefit me in so many ways. There are three main reasons I would like to get a college degree; financial support, professional advancement, and most importantly realizing my dreams.
