An average salesperson has a bad reputation before a person even gets to talk to them about the product that they are selling. Its not due to the person themselves, but from the mind state that Americans have on salespeople. Americans dread being approached by salespeople and normally gives them the famous phase, “I'm just looking.” Who can blame the way a people thinks in these certain situations. Everyone has had that one bad sales experience that just ruins their views on salespeople. Not all sales experiences are bad either, there are some pleasant salespeople in this world. Either situation though, most sales transactions start off with the unpleasant view of the salesman.

A positive outlook on salespeople can almost happen unexpectedly. People sometimes go into a sales situation with a negative mind state and leave with a totally different opinion of a salesperson. When a salesperson makes you feel comfortable about a purchase, that is a good salesperson. While purchasing cars, most people feel they are forced into a decision. A salesman is supposed to sell, that is their job and how they make money. It is a special trait to know how to sell a product and make you feel like you've made the right decision as well. By listening to different key points when a customer is describing their ideal vehicle, you can further help them choose what they want. At the end of the day, if the customer is happy then you in turn will be happy as well.

The downfall to most sales professionals is that they are to pushy and don't pay close attention to the customer's needs and wants. This is the side of the salesperson that we have come to familiar with. When trying to sell a car to a customer, the salesperson should let that customer decide...
