1. Determine which phase of your project will present the greatest challenge as well as how that challenge will be addressed.

As with most projects the greatest challenge to the success of this relocation project is the planning phase itself. One of the first challenges of the planning phase is assuring that all deadlines set for this project are realistic and feasible. I need to assure that I compensate for schedule adjustments and leave enough contingency time for unexpected occurrences which are a normal occurrence in nor only relocation projects but government relocation projects. Addressing this challenge with a contingency period built in to the plan would allow me the flexibility to compensate for delayed schedules without impacting the project deadline. This contingency phase would also allow me to compensate for things such as scope changes, for instance if we were to be relocating to a different wing of the hospital. Additionally the planning phase is where resources need to be aligned. I need to assure that all the resources I have scheduled to execute the project tasks are both capable and available, and the planning phase is where the communication plan will be developed as well as the goals of the project defined. The goals, timeline and project schedule are critical items that need to be carefully structures and disseminated to the project team. The project schedule that I build in the planning phase has to support and assure project goals are met. The framework developed in the planning phase will outline all necessary activities and outcomes and the managing of the schedule built in the project phase can help assure the project's success. Additionally the project plan I build in the planning phase will allow me to be aware of any risks arising from the tasks and how they affect the timeline and give me an early awareness of any changes I need to make to avoid a...
