Executive Summary

Based on a detailed analysis of MR.LUBE’s servicing process from previous situation analysis and problem identification reports, an evident problem was detected regarding the existence of steps that are both repetitive and irrelevant to the operations of the business. In other words, these steps in the servicing process are not contributing to any increases in efficiency of the business. Instead, they are causing delays in the process. In order to assist MR.LUBE in tackling this problem, data from both primary and secondary sources were obtained and feasible recommendations were made. One of our group members, Zack, is an employee for MR.LUBE #64; therefore, monetary figures were obtained by him and were used to discuss the cost savings and increase in revenues for MR.LUBE #64, if they were to implement our proposed recommendations. The overall problem with MR.LUBE’s servicing process is that it is redundant because technicians are currently required to summarize a list of maintenance and repairs to be performed on customer vehicles and their associated charges to a client numerous times, despite already acquiring a customer’s consent about performing the service the first time. Not only does this slow down the process of servicing each vehicle, but it also reduces the number of potential customers to be serviced per day. This leads to the inability to maximize revenues and profits.

Our team’s main recommendation for MR.LUBE #64 is to implement the use of Signishell electronic signature pads. With these signature pads, technicians obtain the signature of customers directly on the pad and thereafter, the pad prints out the invoice with the signature already on it. This helps reduce the length of the process and eliminates repeated steps for reviewing and signing of the invoice. Based on calculations made, it is apparent that the benefits for employing these electronic signature pads outweigh their costs. As a result, MR.LUBE #64 should...
