BUYING AND SELLING ON THE INTERNET

Buying and selling on the internet has become big business in the world today because of the ease of use of the internet, people enjoy using the internet to shop for things that are needed or just thing that they feel they need at that point in time. I will use this essay to try and describe some of the things that a person needs to know about buying and selling on the internet.

Ever since the early 1990’s the internet has been gaining ground as the information super highway because of all the information that is right at your fingertips. Businesses has started to get their products online so that the consumers could have another easier way to buy product from their favorite store without leaving their homes and with so many people having computers with internet access businesses feel that this would help them make more money.

According to Peter Donker of the Sunday Telegram Massachusetts, “With more and more people traveling the World Wide Web, a growing number of retailers and merchandisers such as Omni are carving out electronic store sites to market their products.”(1996) with this the sores will be able to make money without having the consumers coming in the stores. There are many different types of stores that are on the internet now such as shoe stores, grocery stores, and even store such as flower shops you can now actually find anything that you need on the internet now.

When it comes to buying on the internet the biggest problem that people would have is credit card security which according to the article written by Peter Donker of the Sunday Telegram should not worry anyone he wrote "Using a credit card number on the Internet is no more insecure than giving out the number over the telephone or handing your credit card over in a store or restaurant,"(1996) because at any time when you hand over your credit card to someone at a store or a...
