Five Senses Analysis

I’ve selected Musical Rock concerts for my focus group. Two senses come forward in this area, Sight and hearing the two are mostly focused on here to satisfy the needs of a successful event. Fulfilling the visual aspects for your event I believe to be the first and foremost of importance in this arena, inviting visual displays before and during the event need to be established. Examples here would be themed merchandising tables and backdrops with possible three dimensional look to the stage setting. Use of multi-colored lights and strobes create an emotional transition to one’s mind to create excitement. Fogging equipment, mechanical animations, actors to play theme characters and video equipment will further stimulate the visual effects to satisfy the group being entertained. Keeping your audiences eyes moving up on the stage keeps the stimulation fresh and exciting.

To entertain the audience the need for being able to hear the music is as important as the visual aspects. Being able to understand the size and structure of the establishment, amount of people that will be entertained and the acoustics that would be produced in the area are an important factor. If the event takes place in an open arena with no walls will have a different need than in indoor arena. Equipment needs would change for an outside event resulting in more equipment to establish the same exhilarating experience from the sound equipment of an indoor event. Placement of the sound equipment would be crucial and should not be overlooked. If there is too much sound stimulation can change the mood of the audience and result in an unpleasant experience. Not enough would result the same.
