The items I choose were toward the bottom end of the prices. As someone new to the IT field, I need more experience to know if these cheaper items are ok or if I’m just wasting my money. There were a few options that could bump some of these prices upward of $150 to $200.
Lab Project 20.3
From our studies, I’ve learned that there are a few basics for a technician to have on hand. Since many of these applications or software are free, I would invest in a portable hard drive, thumbdrive, or both. I could then load malware cleaners to clean up a project computer. I would also include a copy of anti-malware that can be installed on the project computer. Boot tools, such as autorun. A password clearer just in case you run into a lost Windows password. A third party Zip file would be useful as well. The portable hard drive could be used to create a backup prior to working on a computer, provided this option is available.
Summary
This was a fun week for me. Since I’m getting this information for a second or third time, I’m retaining the information that much more. I found this to be the case when I took the quiz. The answers seemed to pop right into my mind without second guessing what I was doing. After working through the complete PC tech, I’m getting more excited for the Christmas break as I have a laptop that I’m planning on digging into. Right now, the laptop works, but it is old, slow, and probably loaded with malware. I haven’t used the laptop in three or four months so I’m not too worried about how well...
