Having observed several classrooms in my undergraduate I have come to notice that classroom management can tend to be not a easy task or one that teachers follow through on. However this is something that needs to be set at the very beginning of the school year. If you don't have classroom management your classroom can become a very out of control classroom. When I first met with my cooperating teacher she told me that she was very laid back with her students, they didn't use textbooks, and all the students would work on different things at the same time. I was very nervous as to how this approach worked and couldn't wait till the next Monday to go into the classroom and see first hand how this worked.

Much to my surprised, the students in the class are very well behaved and have good discipline with this classroom approach. Instead of a using textbooks and have a regular routine like what most classrooms that I have observed have used. My cooperating teacher makes all of her own works and gives the students a checklist of what they need to accomplish during a set number of weeks. Each student is given a checklist that is geared towards his or her level and that is aligned with what is on the assessments. So in all essential she each student has their own lesson plans for however many weeks the class is working on a certain checklist.

By doing the checklist the students come and get a check on and a “mini” quiz of what they are getting checked off on. Before the students can get checked off on a works they have to prove that they know what the works is about and that they didn't just guess at the answers. Once the student finishes their checklist and it is before the time is up the teacher makes up another checklist for them with more works on it.
