I found that leadership has a number of characteristics some are usually to be inborn and others can be acquired (Eunson, 2005). As a personal point view of I would go along with the following characteristics and adopt them as a style for me in the organization that I work in. First character is high self-confidence, as poor confidence leads to failure and high confidence leads to success. Second character, is a need for achievement, as a leader I would have to encourage others to achieve the organization goals. Third character is to use the reward and coercive power, employees usually like the applause and fear the penalty, as a leader I would reward those who accomplish tasks successfully and punish those who did not. Fourth character is to admit mistakes; it is usually difficult to admit mistakes, however in order to become a successful leader and lead my organization forward, I have to find it easy to admit mistakes. Finally, I would make sure that tasks are being accomplished according to the way they suppose to be done, and that can happen by physically being among employees and sharing them their assigned duties.

One of the characteristics that could damage the leadership is the mistrust on others. A great leader is the one who believes in his employee’s ability. A leader who assigns tasks to those he trusts only and ignores others due a mistake they have done in the past or due to lack of experience will always keep his environment limited.
