Fed Ex is an American global based currier or delivery service. Their main competition is UPS and DHL. Fed Ex is based out of Memphis Tennessee. Fed Ex got its start officially in 1997. They mainly deliver small to medium sized packages from pickup to at the door delivery.

One of the key elements to Fed Ex would be the amazing ability to deliver a package in a very limited amount of time. They can pick up the package by truck, transport it to the next location by aircraft then finalize the delivery with another truck. This entire process can be nationwide in as little as 24 hours.

Fed Ex employs over 300,000 people and ships 1.2 billion packages a year they have a foot hold on 49% of the American market. The biggest competitor is UPS which employs over 320 Million and has 1 46% hold on the American market. UPS carries and much higher foreign sales market.

Fed Ex from Operations standpoint is an amazing company. They utilize outstanding SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT. They have exceeded any competitor on the ability to get products from one place to another. There in the United States efficiency per person well exceeds UPS. Fed Ex has recently acquired a deal with the United States Postal Service to start delivering parcels under that label also.

Fed Ex has headquarters that is located in Memphis Tennessee almost directly in the middle of populated America. Fed ex also is able to track a package almost to the exact location. A package is checked in at every transition point from pick up to delivery.
