Answer: Management is the act of applicable functions including planning , organizing ,leading and controlling to have things done in the most effective and efficient way involving people. Effectiveness is to things or task that we need to do to help the organization reach her goals while efficiency is get to plan and produce the greatest output from the lowest input

Describe the 4 functions of a manager.

The four functions of a manager are planning, organizing , leading and controlling.

Planning include setting the goals of an organization within a time frame. In this process, the manager will have the clear the goals and establish a strategy with the team. After setting the goals and objectives, the manager will have to develop a plan to achieve the target. The plan will have to identify the obstacle and possible solutions to solve it.

Organizing is to structure the team and plan and make to deliver the greatest result. There are 6 key elements in organization design, namely, work specialization, departmentalization, authority and responsibility, span of control , centralization or decentralization and formalization. Apart from this, the manager will need to know the team strength and weakness and allocate them the right job for them. They have the ensure that jobs are spread out evenly and observe the stress level in the team.

Leading is the influence the team. A good leader that motivate the team will generally generate a higher output and productivity compare with a leader with poor leading skill. Part of the this process will be identifying each of the team personalities and traits. Thereafter, assign a job suitable for him/her.

Controlling is to make sure the task is accomplished as planned and correction to it if there is any diversion or sudden, unpredictable caused. The management will need to evaluate and make alteration should there be a need to do so. Actions need to be enforce to make sure...
