Mojo Music Store S.W.O.T. Analysis Report

Mojo Music Store is a growing company with potential to become a franchise over time. Pointing out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, allows one to try to figure out the potential of success. By identifying the S.W.O.T., a company can capitalize on its strengths and opportunities, and counter its weaknesses and threats. I have conducted a SWOT analysis report for Mojo Music Store and have concluded the following results:

The Strengths: Location and Customers - Mojo Music’s target customers are the 23,000 students of State University and 40,000 non-student residents of the university area, and will be located one half block from the university campus on Taylor Street which is the major retail/commercial section of the university area. The student foot traffic on Taylor is heavy. The university bookstore is on Taylor Street, as well as numerous coffee houses, restaurants, and shops that cater to the student population.

Marketing: Mojo music will sell new and used Cd’s, blank recordable cd-r, and will rent DVD movies. Mojo music believes that they will be appealing to the college students with their ability to sell new and used cd. The new Cd’s will keep students up to date on music and the used cd will help with the cost of new cd. Used cd will be sold for about half the price of new cd. Keeping up with trends and technology; Mojo music understands that students like to record copies of their music there selves. This is why they have decided to sell blank cd-r. Finally, there isn’t a DVD rental store for approximately four miles or more of the college campus. Since many college students own DVD players, Mojo believes that the ability to rent DVDs will be very beneficial to customers in the area.
